Standard document types have a fixed price. These include:
Birth Certificates, Police Certificates, ID cards & Marriage Certificates
Non-standard documents of a general (non-technical nature) are charged at a minimum rate up to 500 words. An additional amount is charged for every 100 words/characters above that amount.
Technical or legal documents are charged at a higher minimum rate up to 500 words. An additional amount is charged for every 100 words/characters above that amount.
CNSST will give an exact price only when it has examined the document you want to have translated.
As a general rule a standard document can be translated within 24 hours while non-standard documents may need longer. CNSST will always attempt to deliver translations within the time frame, but reserves the right to adjust the time frame in accordance with the availability of resources.
In all cases you must pay the fee first before we will begin translating. The only exception to this is in the case of a reputable business that can be billed on a monthly basis.
On payment CNSST will issue you an official receipt that can be used for tax purposes.
N.B. For community organisations or NGOs CNSST offers a discounted rate on negotiation.
